Hamilton hammered by Hearts

08/21/2010 - Hamilton, Scotland (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Hamilton was on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline for the second successive weekend, this time losing to Hearts at New Douglas Park on Saturday.

Calum Elliot scored the opener and the final goal for Hearts, with David Templeton and Kevin Kyle scoring goals of their own in between.

Elliot opened the scoring after six minutes when he was played in on goal by Suso Santana, while a poor backpass from Hamilton's Simon Mensing led to Templeton doubling the lead for the visitors midway through the opening half.

Hamilton tried to pull a goal back early in the second half when Flavio Paixao headed the ball off the crossbar, while Hearts was reduced to 10 men when Ruben Palazuelos received a second yellow card.

Martin Canning helped to seal Hamilton's fate 15 minutes from time, however, as he brought down Hearts' Lee Wallace inside the penalty area, earning himself a red card and handing the visitors a penalty kick that was converted by Kyle.

Elliot then capped the scoring six minutes later when he took advantage of a giveaway by Kyle Wilkie to score his second goal of the game.

Saturday's other match saw Aberdeen claim its second win in as many games courtesy of a Darren Mackie goal four minutes from time, giving the Dons a 1-0 win over St Johnstone.
