01/20/2012 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Marlins have signed outfielder Aaron Rowand to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Rowand spent the past four seasons with the Giants, winning a World Series title in 2010, and was released last September after appearing in 108 games. He batted a mere .233 with four homers and 21 runs batted in last season.

In Miami, he'll rejoin manager Ozzie Guillen. Rowand played the first five years of his big league career with the White Sox and won a World Series title in 2005 with Guillen as his manager in Chicago.

The 34-year-old veteran also played two years in Philadelphia and has a career batting average of .273 with 136 homers and 536 RBI. He was a Gold Glove center fielder for the Phillies in 2007 and earned his lone All-Star Game selection that summer.

Miami also signed 10 others to minor league contracts with invitations to spring training: pitchers Rob Delany, Chad Gaudin, Gary Glover, J.D. Martin, Robert Ray and Beau Jones; and infielders Nick Green, Donovan Solano, Terry Tiffee and Gil Velasquez.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
