06/21/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Heat have just four players under contract right now but their plans are clear.

Pat Riley hopes to re-sign All-Star guard Dwyane Wade and bring in another top-tier free agent to team with his superstar, with most of the speculation centering on Chris Bosh or Amare Stoudemire.

The South Beach locale certainly helps and most think the Heat will be able to get it done but that still leaves some significant holes, namely at point guard and on the weak-side.

Miami hasn't had a top-tier quarterback since Tim Hardaway. The team recently picked up its option on Mario Chalmers but he couldn't keep the starting job last season so an upgrade is necessary. Meanwhile, Daequan Cook excelled at the three-point contest a few years ago but that hasn't translated to the floor.

Picking 18th, the Heat could take a stab at Butler sharp-shooter Gordon Hayward or Kentucky point guard Eric Bledsoe. Hayward is a player with a high basketball IQ that could take advantage of the double-teams Wade often gets and Bledsoe is considered the second-best signal-caller in the draft behind college teammate John Wall.

If Owens is forced to the bench in favor of Bryant, his attitude will create trouble for Carson Palmer and head coach Marv Lewis. If Owens is the number two receiver, it means Bryant can’t live up to his past numbers and the Bengals are still limited in the passing game.
